Hello Blockchain.com: Is My Data Safe With You?

in #blockchain4 years ago

Who else got an email from a certain "blockchain mail"? Ordinarily, I would have loved to ignore such mails but because it was sent to my email connected to my blockchain account, I can't help but feel much concerned.

Can you see the red flag?

An attempt to make it look genuine :(

Multiple red flag + the final nail to Bury it :)

Now let's identify some of the red flags...

  1. (Image 1) Apart from the poor construction of English, blockchain.com has changed their logo recently. Hence all correspondence from them should have the new logo.

  2. (Image 2) A look at the details of the purported "blockchain mail" shows the email address that sent the scam mail.

  3. (Image 3) The add-on link to download the app was just an image both for Apple and Playstore.

  4. (Image 4) They requested the update via a Google form, which is very unlikely. The gibberish is also a red flag.

Inference...

Blockchain.com may have their customer's data compromised or it may just be random emails sent from another source, though chances are slim.

Please be security conscious on the internet, there are many wolves lurking around.
