Orvium Review: A Blockchain Platform to Public Scientific Journal

INTRODUCTION:
The importance of science to man cannot be overemphasized. It is because of science that we have been able to come a very long way and improve the quality of our life. With science and technology, our culture has improved, and so is the life expectancy of humans.
However, what surrounds every invention is hidden from most people. Research work has to be studied, financed, approved and the dissemination of the result. All this process plays a major role in publishing any scientific journal.

There are however problems, associated with this and we discuss them below
Problem With Scientific Research
Every scientific research values the publication of its findings among other scientific materials. This helps give members of the society an avenue to learn new things. One main issue with this, however, is that to publish a scientific journal require extra cost that can affect the whole research work.
There is also the unfair process of selecting materials to be published. And asides, the author of the study doesn’t get the copyright but the publisher.
In a bid to solve this issue, the Orvium was birthed.
About the project
The major goal of Orvium is to provide a fair, reliable and transparent publication platform for articles from the science community. It also seeks to give the science community all of their deserved benefits. With the blockchain technology, it is making available a decentralized storage system. The storage will be open to the public and traceable.

How Orvium Works
Orvium will provide a fair, comprehensive and competitive model which will serve the needs of global researchers. The entire research team and organizations will get a reasonable cost distribution model to guide them on the platform. The entire participants will be recognized on the platform while Journal will be published at a fair cost.
It will be compulsory for all researchers to register to join the platform as they will have to present an ORCID for the verification. It is recommended that researchers verify their wallet ownership to guard against impersonation on the platform. On completing the registration, the authors can present their manuscript for submission. Authors will be able to track their manuscript throughout the entire process of publication. Asides, an author can change or make corrections on his paper if he is not satisfied during the process of submission.

The Orvium Token
The Orvium platform operates using the ORV token. It is a digital token made just for the orvium platform. For the different stages between a manuscript and a journal, actions like the submission of the manuscript, the peer review process, copyright license payments, sharing of research data etc will facilitate the exchange of ORV tokens. This will happen between reviewers, authors, readers, publishers and any other party involved.

The ORV tokens is a means to motivate other researchers for the peer review process. As the peer review process proceeds, the author will receive the corresponding ORV tokens that s/he stakes. The author also decides the number of tokens he distributes for the peer review process. Also, the price for the peer review is dependent on the quality of the review, and other factors like the current review market price.

In conclusion, the decentralization process brings out the full potential of a new, transparent, fair and competitive market which is free of hidden agenda as its controlled by the whole community.
