Decentralization: Privacy or Control?

A lot of people have had this train of thought at some point: "should we allow total control or should we agree to some sort of control?"
I know the idea of decentralization is supposed to be an utopia of total freedom where we can do what we want.

I once said that we should accept that when gifted such a power, we should also be willing to accept the responsibilities that come with it. But then is it everyone who's willing to accept the cross of the responsibility? We've been hit by a wave of obvious market manipulation over the past couple of months.

At first, everyone blamed the government, afterall it's easier to blame them for all our woes...lol.
Maybe they had a major role to play in it, maybe it wasn't that much of a big deal, however, we cannot but ignore their negative inteference.

Let's have a walk down history: since the dawn of time, the government (not the version of them we have at the back of our minds) has always wanted to exert control. What they cannot control, they destroy. Why they do that is quite simple, nobody wants to lose their grip on power and whosoever controls hunger, controls power.

But, in this case, what or who is actually responsible for our recent woes? I once believed it was solely the fault of the government, however, I don't believe so anymore. Some weeks ago, bitmex went down for some time and the next thing we saw was a massive price surge in bitcoin. That was a sign, somebody somewhere was doing something and some of us were in the dark.

With the advent of shorting, we can't but ask again if the dream of a bull run is dead? We say we want privacy, but privacy and freedom from what exactly? Are we truly free or have we left some slave masters and signed our freedom new slave masters.
Don't be deceived, the government is not gone, they've only changed faces and are hiding behind screens this time.

We hear FUD and false news all the time, the recent one being the binance delisting tether and suddenly the price of tether was sinking faster than the titanic. The same corporate bodies bought back in and voila, we were back on track.

On steemit, if we say we want the thrash out of the platform, that means they should have the ability to actually delete threats and rule breakers via outright ban. The problem with that is that it contravenes the concept of decentralization which is freedom.

Don't forget about SIN2

Everything has it's pro's and con's. So the system being decentralized surely comes with an advantage and also a great disadvantage.
I wished for a fair system though but getting a fair system will surely not make the system to be decentralized anymore.
