Truly Great Ideas Can't Be Stolen

We are conditioned for competition from birth. I win, you lose. What's mine is mine.

The blockchain is injecting a new paradigm into society that few people truly comprehend. There are now incentives to collaborate on a fully open source foundation.

Centralized corporations are always worried about their intellectual property. Patent law exists so that these centralized organizations have a monetary incentive to develop innovation. The idea here is that if other corporations were allowed to use the same IP, the IP wouldn't be worth developing in the first place.

Open source platforms like the blockchain show us the exact opposite. When a technology is locked down by patent law this actually stifles innovation because no one from the outside can come in and improve on the tech. IP lawls hinder development by limiting said development to the owner of the patent.

Cryptocurrency is the first instance of ever being able to monetize open source development. Before crypto, open source projects basically had to beg for funding. Now the development can entrench itself on top of it's own economy. The blockchain is the foundation for an open source world.

If you have an idea, share it. If someone comes along and "steals" your idea everyone will still benefit. I used to think my ideas were important and worth keeping a secret. I'm likely wrong on both fronts. If someone were to come along and implement the things that I want, I would no long have to do the work and I would reap the benefit of the idea being brought to life.

Abandon this notion that we all have to compete against each other. This is the old and selfish way of thinking. Look to the future. Look for teamwork, organization, and leadership in this space where everyone helps everyone ascend.

I always wonder how much farther we would be scientifically if everybody were working together more instead of competing. We probably could have cured caner and several other problems a long time ago.

I'd like to think we are operating at 1% efficiency. If everyone was working together we could pack 100 years worth of R&D into one year.

.

Or we could be keep being selfish for the fun. The Hunger Games wouldn't be any fun if everyone cooperated. Sure 23 people would have better lives, but we can't change if it sacrifices entertainment and my ability to spend money on abusing substances.

Those are god-given rights.

Good knowledge.
