Corporate Interests Have Embraced The Blockchain
Mainstream cryptocurrency adoption might be right around the corner. So much development is happening on the blockchain and the majority of the world is completely in the dark. Most people only see the FUD getting spread around surrounding the blockchain. Bill Gate's tries to slam Bitcoin yet Microsoft recently announced Azure; a blockchain development workbench.

Patents
Amazon and Cisco have filed blockchain patents.
Oracle has entered the space as well.
Countries like Venezuela and Australia are also trying to get in on the action:

If the establishment and mainstream media lift the veil on all the FUD, cryptocurrency will become mainstream instantly. However, that's not what they want.
The hypocrite establishment has decided that they want the blockchain, but crypto has got to go. The reason for this is obvious. Cryptocurrency threatens their dominance and they know it.

All of these people are coming out of the woodwork to bash crypto but embrace the blockchain. Their motives are entirely transparent. They won't endorse a worldwide crypto unless it's a Fed Coin with 100% premine and they control everything.
Fedcoin
Make no mistake, Fedcoin is happening. They'll promote it and bash everything else. They'll try to control everything. I'm not worried about it though. Hypocritical antics will be their undoing. It doesn't matter how people enter the cryptosphere. Once they are here they are going to explore. A Fedcoin will unintentionally give legitimacy to every other blockchain.
Get in while the gettin' is good.
I really can't stress this enough. All of these companies clamoring to clamp down on blockchain tech is a big sign. It's a sign of a huge shift; the shift of mainstream adoption. It's not going to wait for you. It's a bullet train traveling at 10 MPH right now. If you haven't already, hop on.
A lot of people feel like they already missed the train when Bitcoin hit 20K and declined back to 6K. Instead, think of that as the whistle of the train. ALL ABOARD. Even if you can only get like $1000 onto the blockchain train that will be plenty in California. Lower that number even further as the cost of living decreases in other parts of the world. The amount of risk you need to take on this technology is very little in order to be set for life. Abundance for everyone.
Really is still the time to get in and also create based on the blockchain, once things get going it will go the way of operating systems with a little lone straggler on the fringes.
I just saw the title patents and got pissed off, I have never really understood why they can't just leave it be and have knowledge open to use by all. If you want a patent system then all that money must go not to the creators but to a cause, but I digress.
People will seemingly not adopt anything new unless it gauges them, be it for information, money or their livelihoods all this tech might rely on society but it sure would be nicer if it relied on cows, at least they are decent beings.
I think the patents might end up backfiring. The way patents work revolves around centralized entities. The true decentralized blockchain community doesn't have to obey these antiquated laws. There is no way for them to press charges against a decentralized force.
These patents give us new technology that we perhaps would have never created, and at the same time it stops other centralized corporate interests from exploiting said tech. It might end up a win-win.
Thank you for explaining a bit, do you think it is like Electroneum pushing a patent for instant transfers on a cryptonote chain? It pushed the tech forward and it keeps money grabbers like Etsy, Shopify and them from exploiting it?
Unrelated note thank you to @dreemsteem for sharing your great posts every now and then in BuddyUP she has totally been bragging about you :) if you want to drop in you please use the link from this post - SafeLink here
Yeah I remember reading about that Electroneum patent. I'm not quite sure what they are going for there, but I would guess that you are correct.
Just look at Monacoin.
The Monacoin team is totally anonymous under the pseudonym Mr. Wannabe. If they violate a patent how is a government going to take legal action against them?
Also, it's not illegal to program software. It's illegal to use it. Who do you go after? The miners/witnesses creating blocks? They are all over the world. It's even harder to crack down on than file sharing like Pirate Bay. As well all know, torrent sites get attacked and shut down all the time, but they can't be stopped. Blockchain is that times 1000.
In the end, it is just a case of governments and corporates to display false control to those who are ignorant, which is the majority. Well, that is how I would state it to myself so I don't get irritated by the headlines. haha.
As for Electroneum they are not saying much since they are in patent pending last I read, it will be a Hybrid system that will enable instant payments and micropayments , obviously not using steem I assume maybe it is just an Auth exchange which might not require "mining" on a side chain of sorts , I don't know the tech well enough to even speculate but won't let that stop me, they would need to still maintain the security and anonimity so will be cool to see how they have decided to execute it.
Thank you for all the info, I will be sure to keep your thought process in mind when reading all the fluff on the topic.
Crypto currencies are still a relatively new concept to me. I am learning by degrees.
I like your post because it's approachable. The idea of a fed coin is disgusting, they seem to be late adopters in terms of technology.
Steem to the moon?
Really loving your posts.... will share with the buddyup group.
are you ever on discord?

Cant wait for it to be adopted by the mainstream!
I don't get all this hysteria. I have invested thousands of dollars in blocks and chains and so far this year and they haven't done shit. I've tried everything, cinder blocks, wood blocks, plastic blocks, with all kinds of chains.
