Steemit pay out system: should it be re-structured?

Cryptocurrency mining never got easier, the advent of steemit has shown the biggest transparency in Cryptocurrency mining, and have also simplified the steps which one has to go through to get the much valuable Cryptocurrency.
The blockchain social network has not only shifted the much attention paid to non-lucrative social media but has also presented everyone with the hope of an ever-valuable use of time, and the hope of making meaningful use of every second of the day has been shown to be achievable.
Payout system in steemit is an extraordinary one and something worth of praise, and I must contend one of the co-founders of steemit @ned for this wonderful job, cos actually I don't know the whole team... Lol
When one puts up a good work on steemit, he or she stands a good chance of upvotes and hence a hand-full of the steemit currency, the steem dollar. But, the fact that one doesn't have a full control on when he/she can redeem this payment makes it perilous as the value of the currency keeps fluctuating during this time of maturity. This however marks a great similarity between steemit and the civil service systems, maybe steemit witnesses such as @jerrybanfield should see this reason with me.

The system is awesome I must say, but in my opinion the authors should be given a more control over how and when they want to payout, while some authors wish the seven days payment strategy be extended so as to prolong the validity of their posts, others wish the time be shortened so as to redeem their rewards just when they need it.
On my own side, I'd say I'm glad with the system but on recent chat with fellow authors in the discord app, I feel the payment system should be looked into for a more possible author-controlled system.
