Spam mail via Ethereum address. Ethereal Junk Mail.

in #blockchain6 years ago

Bob's Repair gave promotional BOBX tokens to 194926 accounts. This is the first time I have been included in someones Ethereal junk mail! When I first received them I went to figure out what they were and why I received them over on the Bob's Repair Telegram.

They informed me that for every BOBX token I received I can get 5% more BOB tokens during the token sale. Otherwise, they informed me that this was in fact Ethereal spam.

I am on Steemit so obviously I had already heard of Bob's Repair. I heard about it on Steemit since it will be one of the first SMT's. I also heard about it from John Mcaffee, which means Bob's Repair paid him to shill their SMT. I hope they didn't pay him 1 million dollars for a tweet. Though that is what he charged other shit coins for his Tweeting power.

Today over in the Bob's Repair Telegram thy are now saying that in fact these BOBX tokens will have value in December once their platform launches. That statement is in contrast with the message they originally sent me in Telegram.

This post is to inform BOB'S REPAIR that I don't enjoy getting pointless coins in my Ethereum account. By telling you this I am hoping that the next ICO that decides to send mass fake tokens to Ethereum addresses will think twice about it. Maybe they will choose not to send me Ethereal Spam Mail.

Instead of waiting until December to see if these spam coins actually have value, I am going to opt to send these coins back the the spam address that sent them. Unless one of you wants my 1500 BOBX spam coins. I will gladly give them to someone who would like more spam coins.

I am hoping this is not the beginning of a new trend. If I check my Ethereum address next year and I have 2000 coins that have no purpose or value except to inform me about some coin I will never look up. I will know that spam has come to the blockchain. Then I will need to find something that separates spam coins from real useful coins like email service providers do.

Bob's Repair is a good idea, it could be successful. I will not participate, because I don't want to encourage the next ICO's to fill my Ethereum address with useless shit.

How about you guys? Have you ever got spam coins in your Ethereum address? Did it make you invest in the coins it was advertising?

Woot woot,

haha, I'm lucky I have no idea about Bob's Repair. I've never heard of it before your post and I'm glad. But, I am wondering how I missed it lol. Maybe I'm not diving deep enough into steemit posts.

Most of the stuff that has turned up in my Eth wallet(via ICO's) has been useless till now. Although I can always create a dump wallet and send them there. Initially I thought maybe this would turn out useful but I am still waiting .
Although I would admit it costs nothing to keep crap coins .........who knows that future. Maybe one the coins can really be the worth our while.
