BLOCKCHAIN: A WORK OR TWO ON ANTI-STATISMsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #blockchain7 years ago (edited)

I recently read a rant by a fellow steemian that implied block-chain tech being inapplicable by governments, basically in the style of zealous religious proselytes tirades. There is no doubt the block-chain technologies are one of the major desruptors in the world, along nano and automation. But there are a lot of possibilities as far the future applicability of cryptography and more so for block chain technologies. And that isn't the privy of morally high riding anti government crypto-fans.

Why is this a concern to,  at least, me?

Well, I shouldn't be alone in thinking that the marriage between overt anti-statism, tinged with conspiratorial paranoia and technological innovation of this magnitude should be viewed with a degree of hostility as the type of ill advised coupling will blind great visions of the future.

Would it be such a disaster for the governments of the world to use the it for the betterment of the citizens of the respective nations and so on. This is a problem unless you've adopted a near impossible measure suspicion of state official as a whole and view very one of them as deficient of honorable and moral ends.  You'll have to excuse my insisting on the application of balance and proper measure in the way of think about such things.

If there ever was a much need point of disruption it would be in the way public service, taxes and fund are used and distributed among the people. I needn't even mention the total annihilation of the administrative processes of governing bodies and so on.

One such application that some governments are looking to make use of BCTech is in the alleviation of identity fraud which are estimated to cost industries.

If you're not satisfied by that then you should know that governments like the United States and Denmark govt are researching ways to apply BCTech to prevent instances of voting fraud.

If those aren't sufficient enough to pop the bubble of paranoia or even the snide thought that a government isn't capable of practical efficiency and benevolence then I dare say that nothing will persuade you otherwise. The true of is, though, that BCTech is here to stay is not the province of standalone nerds and self appointed moralists.
