WONO – IMPROVING THE SHARING ECONOMY THROUGH THE BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY.

The blockchain technology is a new technology that is disrupting so many industries in the business world. It is gradually gaining acceptance by the mass and almost every sector these days uses it in their daily transactions. Another industry that is yet to see the light of the blockchain technology is the sharing economy. Most of the people in the sharing economy are into rentals, transportation and services. The commissions charged on these platforms can be as high as 30%, users are also required to pay taxes. There is a challenge when both parties do not come from the same country, they have to go through the stress of converting one currency to the other which results in lost of some amount of the money.

The ratings and reviews on these platforms are usually not transparent because the team who do it can get influenced by the giants in the industry and eventually rate in favor of them. Furthermore, deals on the traditional platforms are not secured and reliable, they can be cancelled at any point in time without any compensation.

WONO seeks to offer a platform which charges only 1% - 5% commissions where freelancers and asset owners are not obliged to pay any tax because of the use of digital currency. The use of digital currency on the platform serves as a common currency for both parties which eliminates the stress one has to go through in order to convert one currency to another. The WONO platform will be transparent as possible which will be controlled by the community themselves so all reviews and ratings will be free and fair. The use of smart contracts on the WONO platform guarantee that all conditions spelt out in the deal are going to be met and events where there is a breach of contract, the affected party will be compensated.

There are four main users on the WONO platform. A user can perform the role as a vendor by renting asset or performing tasks; a customer ordering services, paying for ordered services or exchanging services. a user can also play the role of a guarantor and earn bonuses by making stakes for successful contract termination. The last role is the Arbitrator who settles dispute between two parties on the platform.
