DATABROKER DAO- THE FIRST DECENTRALIZED SENSOR DATA BUYING AND SELLING PLATFORM

INTRODUCTION

We live in a world where investors and businessmen take advantage of every technological advancement to make money. To become successful, one needs to grab every opportunity and make good use of them. One of such evolving technologies is the development of IoT sensors. These sensors do the critical work of monitoring processes, taking measurement and collecting data as well. We have varieties of them including the temperature sensors for progressive monitoring of temperature, proximity sensors for motion detection, pressure sensors for monitoring stuffs like the flow of water in pipes, level sensors also detect the level of liquids and other fluids, and the list continues. The global market for these sensors keep increasing but the sad aspect of it is that the data generated from these sensors are underutilized, they get locked in silos and become less useful to society. The data owners are not able to get connected to data consumers to monetize their data so they do not earn much profit. Something must be done about this and the time to act is now. Behold, there is a team of generational thinkers who have come up with a great idea called DataBroker DAO which is going to use the blockchain technology to disrupt the ecosystem. This technology is going to provide an avenue to expose sensor data to users who will need them for different purposes. Sensor owners can now use a decentralized ledger to store and make huge sums of money out of their sensor data.

THE DATABROKER DAO PLATFORM

The DataBroker DAO ecosystem is made up of sensor owners, who make data obtained from their sensors available on the platform for sale; Data Buyers, who purchase data on the platform for their perusal; Data Processors who buy data from the platform and add value to it for sale; and last but not least, Gateway Operators who expose the data of sensor owners to be sold on the platform. It is projected that by 2019, about 120 billion USD of the total revenue generated from the primary market for these sensors will be locked away. Databroker DAO will use the blockcain technology to unlock this value trough their gateway operators. This will be done in a very simple way; the sensor owners will exhibit their sensor-generated data on the DAO marketplace and stake some of their DTX tokens for buyers to also use their DTX tokens to purchase. Profit made from this transaction will be shared as follows; 10% for the gateway operator, another 10% for the platform and the highest share representing 80% goes to the sensor data owner. The DataBroker DAO will have a considerable large number of gateway operators around the world making our services widely available to everyone around the globe.

BENEFITS TO THE USERS ON THE PLATFORM
Community members will benefit in diverse ways from the platform. Sensor owners will be able to liquidate their data to generate extra income that can be used to cater for some of the sensor expenses. As said earlier 80% of the revenue generated will go into their accounts. Data buyers and data processors will also gain access to the needed data for their services. Gateway providers are not left alone, aside the 10% commission earned, they will also benefit by gaining scale and speed when partners adopt their network or devices.

The National Weather Service, TV and Radio Stations, Fertiliser Companies, Smart City Initiatives, Academics, Public Transport, Self-Driving Technology, Environmental Agencies, Energy Corporations and many others are all potential buyers of sensor data from the platform

THE DTX TOKENS
The DTX token is a utility token in the Databroker DAO platform which will serve as the credits to buy and sell sensor data within the platform. The token is also based on the MiniMe standard which allows new tokens to be created with an initial distribution identical to the original token at a specified block. Setting the ETH price at 1000 USD /ETH, 1ETH will earn you 4000 DTX tokens. The maximum number of tokens issued is targeted around 225 million, which is equivalent to the estimated number of sensors on the platform in 2024.
