Blockchain is seeking to transform governance

Open-source #software has many advantages, and one of them is that the development comes from multiple independent sources, this implies a lot of creativity and #ideas. And because of this we are sure that we haven't seen the full potencial of blockchain.
One of these areas of society where things are getting shaken up is the idea of self-governance using blockchain technology as arbitration for law.
One platform that is looking for this is Pax, a virtual nation and peer-to-peer legal system powered by Ethereum.
Pax is a concept founded and created by Philip Saunders that aims to disrupt the governance model. The mission is to bring a voluntary system of infrastructure to society.
The project has two main features: law and code.

The Pax Law refers to ethical and human rights that most would agree to be universal. Such as “the respect for consent, property rights, and autonomy.”
Pax is not the only project that is trying to change the paradigm of governance, however. Ubitquity is another startup looking to provide similar concepts of blockchain-powered representation. There is also BitNation, which has recently released its constitution using #Ethereum.

These types of projects have planted the seeds in our society that will transform the way we conceive government. Society is starting to realize that trusting in numbers is the smartest way for humans to govern themselves.
¿Should we have to start thinking of a different or a more updated concept than "nation" ?
¿What about services and basic security?

This is a great debate to look at now, because although anyone is forced to become part of something, the changes in our context will make us become part at a certain time.
We are witnessing the begining of a mayor change around the #world, away from nation states.

This panorama is like a combination of a tribal-hitech-knowledge-society, because tribes were united by language, religion, blood, and values.
In the past, three hundred years the "classic idea" of nation took root in most of the world, members of tribes started to become citizens, viewing themselves as a single people with patriotic sentiments and duties toward their homeland. Although this forms of #organization may not meant a true progress compared to all history, the eternal "progress paradoxes".
And more recently, technology has whittled away the underpinnings of the nation state.

National economies have become so intertwined that economic #security depends less on national armies than on financial transactions around the world. Global corporations play nations off against each other to get the best deals on #taxes and regulations.
But aparently, #blockchain can change this panorama, we will take a look closely to self governance developments and we hope you join us to this journey.
Greetings from #Latin America.
