Preethi Kasireddy - Understanding Blockchain at the Fundamental Level

Preethi Kasireddy is a Blockchain developer and Enthusiast. She is based in Los Angeles and also designs and implements Ethereum based tokens. We will take a detailed look into her life and her interests in blockchain.

Education and Career

Preethi did her graduation at the University of Southern California. She is a B.S. graduate in Industrial and Systems Engineering. After graduation, she joined Goldman Sachs as a Banking Analyst for a year. She later joined Andreessen Horowitz as Partner and worked there for 2 years.

In her Medium post, she has explained clearly why she left the job and how she landed in Silicon Valley. She also explains that a career in Banking was not her long-term goal and wanted to go back to being an engineer. However, Preethi notes that she valued her time at Andreessen Horowitz, because she got a unique opportunity to meet Incredible Entrepreneurs like Marc Andreessen, Ben Horowitz, and Chris Dixon. This, she says helped her learn a lot about the challenges in starting a technological startup while she was employed in Andreessen.

After gaining this valuable experience, she decided to quit and the prime reason was her love for becoming a Software Engineer again. She has explained in her Medium post that she loves to build stuff for the world and start her own company.

Being an Engineer gives her freedom to create products out of nothing, and this was quite exciting for her. Preethi also traveled the world and learned that Silicon Valley is not the only place where the innovation happens, but across the world in different cities. Preethi began to really enjoy her new job as a Software Engineer. She was learning and growing at a break-neck pace. Silicon Valley taught her to say "Yes" and create your own path. She later moved out from Silicon Valley to Los Angeles.

Preethi learned to code quickly and got enrolled in Hacker Reacter. She always talks about her love for programming with Java and how she got interested in its technology. She later worked at Socket.io and Coinbase. In 2017, she left Coinbase to start Sapien, an Artificial Intelligence startup. She is now a blockchain developer and designs Ethereum-based smart contracts, while playing the role of CEO and founder of Trustory.

Understanding Blockchain at the Fundamental Level

Through her Twitter handle, she has mentioned: "I live and breathe crypto.".  She is not only a blockchain enthusiast, but also a developer. In addition to all this, she teaches coding on YouTube through her "FreeCodeCamp" channel. Preethi invests a lot of time answering questions from her followers. In her Medium post, she has covered many topics related to blockchain, and in one of her posts, she has explained:

"Blockchains don’t actually eliminate trust. What they do is minimize the amount of trust required from any single actor in the system. They do this by distributing trust among different actors in the system via an economic game that incentivizes actors to cooperate with the rules defined by the protocol."
She then went on to explain how centralized trust is replaced with "Public-key cryptography" and "Consensus mechanism", and they only minimize the amount of trust required, but cannot make it completely "Trustless". She goes on to point out how Blockchain governance is an incredibly tricky problem due to the danger of network forks, when consensus cannot be reached by the community. She highlights that the users would lose trust in the system due to confusion in determining and choosing the valid chain among the forks.

She concludes the post by saying that Public Blockchains are not as "Trustless" but "Distributed Trust: We are trusting everyone in aggregate".

The detailed post demonstrates her thorough understanding of blockchain technology and how it works perfectly. Notably, she has mentioned in her profile:

"Blockchain Engineer. I have a passion for understanding things at a fundamental level and sharing it as clearly as possible"
It's encouraging to see bright and talented professionals working so passionately in the cryptosphere. At Crypto Core Media, we strive to acknowledge, appreciate, and support the commitment and dedication individuals and organizations bring to the evolving crypto ecosystem.

Agreed.
Cryptocurrency is really dangerous when it will be hijacked by criminals because it is not being backed up with any physical worth like governments economy backed with gold, treasury bills etc.

Nowhere in this article is there any mention of this, my friend.
