IoTeX - a special project

Today we will have a look at an interesting project which grabbed my attention as possessing some really unique characteristics and having an overall high probability of success.

Meet IoTeX - A Decentralized Network for Internet of Things. IoTeX is the next generation IoT-oriented blockchain platform with strong scalability, privacy, isolatability and developability for incubating new IoT applications and ecosystems.

That may sound complicated and my style is to avoid talking shop. Let`s say its a blockchain and its a blockchain for IoT, and IoT itself is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity which enables these objects to connect and exchange data. Iot is BIG and is going to be even bigger. The figure of online capable devices increased 31% from 2016 to 8.4 billion in 2017. Experts estimate that the IoT will consist of about 30 billion objects by 2020. It is also estimated that the global market value of IoT will reach $7.1 trillion by 2020.

We are talking about combo here- blockchain as the most profitable projects so far on the ICO market AND a very promising market with huge volume. Sounds good so far.
I normally write about projects that I am only invest in. I didnt invest in this one but i would if i could. IoTex already had a pre-sale (with a moderate bonus and 1 year lock-up period so this is not a threat to the following investors as presale investors cannot really dump the tokens on you), and no public sale is envisioned that makes this project stand out as one of the latest modern ICOs that sell on pre-sales. Moreover, what seems to be unique here is the pre-sale was 12 million (25,000 ETH).

IoTeX believes in growing together with the community and connecting the physical world block by block. In doing so they place their hopes on community and their team. Let`s check their aspirations.

So we established the hype (a very important feature in ICO investing) is there, the project is on
ICOdrops, https://icodrops.com/iotex/, which also says the hype is high. Listing on ICOdrops is another good sign altogether.

We established the market is big and beyond 2020 some pundits predict the market can grow to 11 trillion. To reach that the market will require to overcome certain roadblacks, namely scalability issues, privacy concerns and lack of functional values. And here IoTex appears as a bulldozer or as a snow plough train that tackles those roadblocks with introducing a blockchain-in-blockchain architecture with token economy. Combining token incentives with robust community efforts is a fair shot at crowdsourcing industry and community talents leveraging their effort to address the technical challenges, so the global IoT train can go on its tracks to its 11 trillion evaluation forecast fruition in 2025. Community spirit is kind of special with IoTex, check their site, the community has had a chance to have a say - you can read what members think of their project on the webpage itself (or why not asking them in the Telegram group). IoTeX vision and mission differs from other projects, and this is not a conventional ICO. Through bounty campaigns and charity programs they want to educate the community and come together to make a change and promote innovation in the blockchain space.

Further credibility for the project is added by the exchaustive list of 35 investors and 6 strategic partners. If that is not a very serious project, then what is?

As always per due diligence I checked the legitimacy of LinkedIn profiles and tried to connect to the founders and team members.

The team is very strong, and their advisors are well-versed in finance and cryptography. The team`s background is rather outstanding if names like Google, Facebook, Uber, Intel, Bosch, will tell you anything? The academic background is brilliant as well as one could guess- MIT, Standford and all the cool places. The team is a dream one.

This is kind of a rare project where the boxes keep on being ticked. Another one to tick- IoTex has already launched testnet.

On top of IoTeX’s developers can build their own applications with token economies, that would add value to IoTeX tokens much like Ethereum adds value with more users and applications.
Four main innovations are as follows 1. Blockchain-in-blockchain architecture which ensures privacy and prevents IoT information leakage; 2. Built-in privacy based on lightweight cryptography; 3. Real-time consensus with instant finality, which improves the throughput of the network, and reduces transactional cost, and boosts efficient cross-blockchain communication; 4. Subchain-as-a-service (SAAS) to facilitate fast prototyping and production of new IoT applications and ecosystems.

To cap it all, I believe this is a very decent project, that can benefit an investor, maybe worth to keep looking at their development, you can also join their community effort and pick some coins for your input.
