Blockchain didn't start the revolution. Millennials Did. Sorry!

in #blockchain6 years ago

Blockchains and cryptocurrencies are becoming more and more popular but do we know where this revolution is coming from?

Like they say in the news: Uber, the world’s largest taxi company, owns no vehicles. Facebook, the world’s most popular media owner, creates no content. Alibaba, the most valuable retailer, has no inventory. And Airbnb, the world’s largest accommodation provider, owns no real estate. Something interesting is happening.

Why so many companies are able to generate billions of dollars without having to pay content writers, inventory, real estate,...?? This is the revolution of shared economy. The millennials mastered this concept and changed our thinking about ownerships and blockchains added the missing layer on top of it. Instead of having one big corporation managing and earning all the fees, blockchains enable users to decentralize the operation while keeping it safe (er). Every contributors can now earn something from their efforts.

We should all thank millennials for this but we still have a lot of work to do. How do we get this idea to mainstream? How do we make sure other generations jump into it? How can we make this movement so big that our legacy system does not or could not stop it?

See you on the other side!
