For example, investment in real estate, particularly prime real estate, has been limited to those who could afford the entire structure and such a requirement is too high for the masses.

Global REIT is offering a solution by tokenizing real estate investment. If real estate can be tokenized, then fractional investment can allow anyone to become an investor. Global REIT will function as an investment fund, however, it is making investment in real estate accessible to all as a person can become an investor by owning even 1 token. Despite the social positives of this project, it is at its heart a business and this business is currently looking for investors for its ICO.

Advantages

1. Tokens can be sold on exchanges and Global REIT’s GRET and GREM tokens are no different. Usually, REITs lock in their investors for a certain period of time but Global REIT’s tokens will be unlocked and would allow investors to sell their share in the REIT at will.
2. Token holders get a passive income and the opportunity to use their tokens for special offers at the real estate Global REIT buys.

Drawbacks

1. Real estate is usually one of the least volatile investments but that will likely not be the case with these tokens. Just like any token, these tokens will attract speculative interest and that means volatility should be expected.
2. The special offers available to token holders can realistically be availed by a minority of investors. It’s unlikely that the fund will invest in real estate in every country and it could also take years for Global REIT to have investments in even 10 countries.
