Telos Blockchain - Overview and First Meetup in Africa
The Telos Foundation is an independent, decentralised non-profit organisation which promotes the blockchain network of the future which is Telos. It was launched a year ago with tha aim of selling Telos to the general public through the social media, public relations, live events and education. Telos Foundation is also focused on community in achieving its goal.
Telos is a networked ecosystem enabling visionary leaders and communities to work together to build a new global economy.
With the help of Telos, visionary leaders are building autonomous, socially incentive networks. Like every other cryptocurrency, Telos Token is a digital asset that can be moved instantly. The beautiful thing about it is, instead of waiting for 3 days or more, everything works in 0.5 seconds.
The first Telos meetup in Nigeria took place on Saturday the 14th in Lagos. Telos4africa is a branch of Telos geared towards bringing young Africans together in blockchain technology and helping them achieve their goals. The Telos4africa initiative is carried out by the Telos4africa community members to promote Telos blockchain in West Africa and be rewarded with Tlos coin. This initiative could be dApp developments, music, short films, creative ideas and content creation like articles, social media campaigns, graphic designs, meetups and so on.
The meetup kicked off with the introduction of the community members. Shortly after that, Douglas Horn, the white paper author of the Telos blockchain joined us remotely. He explained what Telos is all about, the goals and objectives. We also had Blaise Bayuo, the representative of Sesacash as they had currently listed Telos amongst the coin to be traded on their web app.
A four man panel were introduced. They include:
Joshua Segun (Blockchain Developer, Sterling Bank)
Lucky Nwanekwu (Community Lead, Business Day)
Agbona Igwemo (African Ambassador, Beam Network)
Samuel Joseph aka Samstickkz (Regional Ambassador Coincola/ EOS Nigeria ambassador)
They discussed the burning question;
What does success look like in the blockchain industry?
More questions were raised with Nigeria in mind and the answers provided as much as possible.
The vision of Telos4Africa is to equip and empower all African youths who actively participate in the community by creating awareness through Africa for the Telos blockchain. Telos for Africa has been involved with a lot of initiatives such as weekly activity rewards, dapp development, short films, music, charity and of course partnerships. The core focus is to expose West Africans to the Telos network.

Creating a wallet is quite easy. There are lot of ways to go about it.

- Download Telos Wallet from Telos Venezuela on OSX, Windows, Linux, iOS & Android
- Go here and create a wallet
- Download the coolX wallet on play store and create your account.
