Singapore Airlines is heading towards Blockchain-based technology to expand its loyalty program and increase its spending.

Singapore's largest airline company will launch a special digital wallet to be powered by Blockchain for the KrisFlyer program in six months.

According to the airline, the wallet based on the Blockchain will allow program members to spend on the sale of the airline's retail partners.

The company said that the initiative came after a successful concept test in partnership with KPMG and Microsoft.

Singapore Airlines began to register sellers to the system
In Singapore, retailers are reportedly signing up to join Blockchain-based service.

The new project is the latest example of the adoption of Blockchain technology by airline and airport operators to improve their operations.

As already mentioned, Australia's Brisbane airport has started to use crypto money in some terminal shopping and dining halls.

US airline Surf Air has announced plans to accept cryptographic currencies in its ticket payments. It is also reported that the Russian airline S7 is investigating Blockchain technology for airline ticket issuance.
