DAOs are startups

When I started learning about blockchain, one of my readings was about DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations), and of course, I read the Ethereum Doc https://www.ethereum.org/dao.

Since then I've figured I had to consider DAO as a company. A company with all of blockchains particularities and not a regular one, otherwise it wouldn't be decentralized and autonomous.

In my recent reading, the book "The Business Blockchain: Promise, Practice, and Application of the Next Internet Technology" by William Mougayar in chapter 5, the author states the following:

"Many of these DAOs will be theoretical in their inception stages. A cryptocurrency crowdsale only enables the DAO to > start on a path. At the end of the day, a new DAO is like a startup. It requires a product/market fit, business model
realization, and a lot of users (customers) to move forward." (from "The Business Blockchain: Promise, Practice, and
Application of the Next Internet Technology" by William Mougayar)

Which totally makes sense to me! When we create a company or a startup, we want to solve a problem. We learn about our clients' needs and do a bunch of Lean Startup things like user journey for instance.
