Using Blockchain To Feed Syrian Refugees

There’s been a lot of talk about how to use crypto-currencies to make money, but here is an interesting innovation coming from the UN World Food Program. They have fed 500,000 Syrian refugees blockchain technology to control funding and distribution. I think this is a great development. There’s other stuff going on too, like the PAL initiatives created by @aggroed. Let’s hope this is part of a larger trend to use secure distributed computing to not only improve the prosperity of first worlders, but fundamentally change the lives of the disenfranchised.
