IOST Referral Program Ends
The promising IOST Community Referral Program has been stopped. The event which commenced at 10:00 am (CST, GMT+8) on July 23, 2018 was supposed to end at 10:00 am (CST, GMT+8) on July 29, 2018 but was stopped a day earlier.
The campaign promises to be lucrative for active participants while it lasted. Since its closure, users, unable to log into their accounts are referred to an announcement on Medium, with the addition, "we'll be right back!"
Why the program was cut off
According to the Medium announcement, the IOS Foundation ended the program before it was due because the organisers found that the referral program was being compromised (as is not uncommon.) Reports from the community revealed 339 accounts that were responsible for a suspicious 100,000 fake referrals. Fifteen have been summarily banned permanently while the review continues.
Apart from tokens earned from connecting social media accounts and referrals, participants were also rewarded for "completing quests" on the platform (liking and retweeting IOS'posts) and checking into their accounts daily.
What next?
At this point, participants should look forward to both the results of the clean-up soon to be announced, and that of the Inclusive campaign exercise. Bounties from 1000 IOS can be withdrawn from individual accounts after 30 days of the referral program. The token has already been listed on exchanges.
IOST is an acronym for Internet Of Services Token of the IOS Foundation.
