Blockchain meetup in Bangalore - Second edition
We had the second edition of blockchain meetup in Bangalore - the Software and Technology capital of India.
The meetup location was 91springboard - a co-working space in Bangalore.
The topics were:
- Blockchain Consensus Protocols by Kiran Abburi (https://twitter.com/kiran_abburi)
- Comparison of blockchains against specific use cases by @bobinson
- Steemit blockchain and its applications by @firepower
Kiran covered the high level aspects of the block and discussed how the Consensus works in detail.
It was great to have @firepower around as well. Both of us were spoke about the technical and social impact of social impact of STEEMit / STEEM.

Personal Surprise
For me the event venue was a surprise as it was the same building I used to work when I was with Lucent / Bell-labs (now Nokia.) ... It was very peculiar as the conference room used to be a meeting room and where I am standing was the exact place my HR interview happened!!!
The session focused on the technical aspects of the blockchains including the STEEM's underlying Graphene technology among others. There is a great deal of interest towards block-chain technologies among the developers. It will be a good idea to continue the meetups with topics with hands on sessions.
Some of the ideas are:
- a walk through of witness / transaction verification in the blockchains
- comparison of PoW, PoS, dPoS, PoSign (XTRABYES) etc
- Using blockchain to use applications - DApps wrt Etherium and EOS
I will be writing about various topics discussed and the questions in followup post.

👍@bobinson how it feel to hv session where u were once been interviewd😂
I see the attendee were very few.
its a peculiar feeling :)
there were around 25 people in the meeting. These informal meetings are usually less crowded and very intensive when it comes to presentations and discussions.
Even though I don't have much knowledge about the blockchain tech it feels like there is lot of interesting things were talked over this discussion.
yea, there were lot of interaction. We actually ran out of time.
Nice to hear that there are people who actually and genuinely are dedicated to this technology and are willing to help others. Maybe in next meet I'll join.
hope you hold one in Kochi. looking forward to one such meet
