A new mobile malware disguised as an application of Orange Telecom, a leading French telecommunications service provider, has been identified by security firm Lookout.

The malicious application delivered a modified variant of the Anubis malware. So far, 394 malicious applications have been identified spreading the Anubis malware.

The main goal of Anubis is to collect "critical data about victims from their mobile devices for monetary purposes. The method is to intercept SMS messages, file extractions, keyloggers, and GPS data collection.
