Howells remained unwavering in digging the hard drive containing 8,000 bitcoins out of the landfill, even though the Newport City Council denied his request for nearly a decade.

He said the hard drive would be discoverable through a combination of human sorters, robot dogs, and artificial intelligence.

Remi Le Grand of Max-AI said his company will train AI algorithms to find hard drives similar to Howells.
