Walmart Plans To Use Drones On Blockchain To Deliver Goods

in #blockchain6 years ago

Just imagine: you are waiting for a package from a friend that will be brought to you by a flying drone instead of the mailman. This drone, in turn, was given the package by another drone several hundred kilometers from you, with the robot “colleagues” recognizing one another with the help of a special blockchain-based identification system. No, this is not a new science fiction blockbuster, it is what awaits us in the near future thanks to new technologies and blockchain. One of the largest retailers in the world, Walmart, plans to work in just this way. Sure, for now we cannot really imagine robots flying over our heads loaded down with packages (or perhaps even people), but then again 30 years ago we couldn’t imagine that we would be able to send a photo we just took to the other side the planet in just a couple of seconds and 10 seconds later receive a response to it. Soon it will just be a matter of concluding a smart contract, paying for shipment using bitcoins or Ethereum, sending the package, and controlling it along its entire route using blockchain. The future is much closer to us than even fantasy writers and directors of science fiction films believed.
