"Zap": starts the first Beta version of the purse Lightning Network

Developer Jack Mallers announced that the purse Lightning Network Zap is ready for use in the test network and will be launched in the Beta version on Monday.

The project has been open source since its inception, but the release of Zap aims to simplify the transaction to the Lightning Network for the average user. To understand how easy it is to use it, watch the video:

To act while stands with caution. So far, the beta version is not yet ready to launch the network. Any attempt to transfer a crypto currency through a Beta application can lead to a loss of funds and a backlog of application developers in continuing the progress.

What is the Lightning Network?
Network Lightning allows you to scale Bitcoin transactions and dramatically increase the speed of payment through the use of smart contracts. This completely eliminates the block chain, so there is no need to worry about the block confirmation times.

This means that now payments can be made without custodians, which makes the Lightning Network a much more scalable and sustainable solution in the long term. It can handle billions of transactions.

It is also possible to make transactions between different Blockchain, while chains can support the same cryptographic hash functions. This eliminates the need for third parties to participate in the signing of the transaction.

The progress achieved
The user of Reddit was told just a week ago that they had successfully completed the first purchase of physical goods in the Lightning network. This occurs less than four months after the developers at Blockstream used test coins to complete one of the first transactions on the network.

Now that the testing and sharing of real BTC is in full swing, Zap aims to be the next step in the development of the Lightning Network. This makes sense, given that in the original Lightning Network demonstration there are many command-line encodings that will no doubt be confused by users who are not programmers:

However, Mallers and the rest of the open source community of LN warn that bends are still possible and need to be worked out before it can be widely used. Try it, but be careful. Do not use real coins yet.
