Cool Cousin: Saving lives and dragging the travel industry into the future.
As a management consultant, it is all in the day’s job for me to get all sorts of inquiries from people-related and non-related. Same goes from requests from my friends.
“What’s the weather like in Vienna at the moment?”
“Are there any hotels under $40, not far from the airport in Nairobi?”
“Is Tel Aviv safe?”
”Where can I get the best view of mount Kilimanjaro from?”
These are questions that I may not be in the best position to answer, seeing I am either not abreast with the latest happenings in those locations, or I am not physically present in any of those cities.
These are questions that local residents would be in the best position to answer.
If for instance, I have a friend residing in Tel Aviv, the natural thing to do would be to get in touch with that friend. But what happens when I don’t have anyone physically present in the city in question?
Surely, we would need an alternative, and this is where Cool Cousin comes in.
Cool Cousin can be seen as a travel agency operating as if it’s in the 22nd century. They just delved into uncharted waters, and are looking to do what has never been done in the travel industry, and the sharing sector put together.
Cool Cousin is a travel agency that has metamorphosed to operate via the decentralised model. All partners and stakeholders stand a chance to benefit financially and gain exposure, while being of assistance to one another. It involves having locals (Cousins as they are called) hot, live and ready in different cities around the world to offer information about their present locations.
If a would be traveller has hopes of visiting Zurich for instance, (s)he could go on the platform and get in touch with Cousins in Zurich, to find out more about what they wish to know; stuff like recreational facilities, events, workshops, top hangout spots, etc-just to be better prepared for their trip.
In the past there were several companies offering services similar to what Cool Cousin offered, but these were generic offerings. Basically the same thing you can get from just about any travel agency around.
But with this new decentralised offering, Cool Cousin is bringing the future to the travel industry, and ensuring they aren't left behind. Cryptocurrencies are here to stay, and it’s best to use them to ones advantage, or be left in the Jurassic age.
Cool Cousin is not a new entrant into the travel industry. They came into existence in 2016, and they have already garnered a large following of 500,000 plus users, spread across more than 70 cities around the world. So yeah, they do have valuable experience, which would be channeled to making this phase a success.
Cool Cousin is harnessing the blockchain to scale rapidly, and offer a secure exchange environment where just about anyone can earn CUZ tokens (official currency to be used on the ecosystem) by offering insight gained from their experiences in their cities (locals/cousins), earn by getting friends to download and use the app and also correct misleading information on the platform, as well as earn from sharing their travelling experiences (travellers).
Businesses can leverage this ecosystem to boost revenue and gain more exposure. They can manage listings and information related to their businesses.
In the future, as the community grows and CUZ tokens become mainstream, business will have the opportunity to conduct transactions with CUZ tokens.
Chances of businesses falsifying reviews are next to non-existent, seeing everything is controlled by the community as a whole, and travellers are there to remove false testimonies/wrong information put up.
Going forward, this would have a telling impact on different stakeholders in the industry.
Cousins (locals) will have a means of sustenance, seeing they are earning from the information provided. Travellers would have better experiences-trauma and drama free, and this would encourage them and their friends to explore more, thus boosting the revenue of stakeholders, such as the airlines, hotels, and other local businesses.
With the CUZ tokens are in play, users would tend to be more active and productive, seeing they won’t earn if they are not.
With this model, the possibilities are endless, and everyone gets a share of the pie.
