The crypto wars and you
If you were to spend a Sunday just on researching the kind of literature there is on the web on the future of crypto and specifically steem. You would find a mixed back. A total mixed bag.
On one hand , the experts say that the exponential growth is towards the end of it's tether. They base there arguments on the fact that the hype is over and in the absence of any fundamentals the valuation is primarily based on speculations. If you were to value a stock on the exchange , you might check it's business model, balance sheet and cash outlay but here in this domain , there is none. So sceptics say that the unpresedented run which Bitcoin had for the last two years might have come to an end at 3000$. In the near future, it will only correct and stabilise itself. Futhermore , one reason for the hype was the issue of multiple ICOs. Between 2014 and 2017 there have been numerous release of ICOs spearheading the gains. Now that the frenzy is bottoming out, fresh impetus may not be likely.
On the other hand optimists maintain that as blockchain technology grows, the rise of cryptos is inevitable. It is just a matter of time that more and more tech based tokens come into circulation. This shall pull the currencies up.
