Headlines That Work : Two Headline Hacks That Gets Your Post Read
Thousands of post are published on Steemit everyday, and a good number of those posts fail to grab the attention of anyone browsing through the New Page
That is why there is great need for you to learn how to write Magnetic Headlines, now if your already a popular Steemian then there is no need for you to write Magnetic headlines
However if you are a Minnow who is just starting out, then you really need to up your game when it comes to creating headlines, because that is what will get you noticed
Your headline is the first chance you have to make a good firrst Impression with your prospective audience, no matter how good your content is, you will not get the amount of views you need to start gaining readers if you headlines aren't captivating
Steemit is getting more crowded as the days go by, so writing Magnetic headlines has become a critical skill every serious blogger has to acquire
Now before we go further I have to state that writing a Magnetic headline but writing a post that fails to deliver the promise made by the headline can be classified as Click bait and if you keep up with it, people will see you as a clown and stop clicking on your post and eventaully unfollow you, nobody loves clickbait
It has been proven that on an average only 8 out of 10 people will read your headline, but only 2 out of 10 will read the post, that is why writing a great headline matters. The purpose of the headline is to get people to read your post and if people stop paying attention to you at the headline then you're already dead in the water
It is important that your first write your headline before you start writing the post itself, you will need to have a basic knowledge of what you are talking about so that you will not struggle with this, having a basic idea of what you are writing about will make it easier for you to write out a good headline
You are making a promise to your readers with your headline and writing it out first will make you know what you are up to and also make it easier for you to fulfill your promise
I have found out that whenever I write a post without first writing out the headline, I tend to digress since I have no focal point and even if the post comes out well, I still struggle with choosing a headline because I will feel that any headline I come up with does not fully make my promise known
With that out of the way, let me fulfill the promise that made you click this post in the first place. The following are ways to create Magnetic headlines that gets your post read
Make Your Benefits Clear
Whenever a person is scouring the web for posts to read, the person is looking for Information that will obviously favor him/her. Your headlines should expressly show the person the benefits of reading your post
The "How To" headline is extremely popular and its popularity stems from the innate Human desire for Tips and Tricks. Most people are too lazy to read information online that will take up much of their time and a place like Steemit that has a small attention span, you need to up your game to get attention
People put up aggresive filters when scouring the web and when they feel that a post will totally waste their time, they tend to skip it, I personally have passed hundreds of useful posts here on Steemit that turned out to be valuable to me and it took some one or the trending page to make me read it
You will get more through the filters people put up if your post headline fully spells out the benefits that your post have to offer
Over the years we have come to see the "How To" headline as a bearer of Important and valuable information
The More Benefits the Better
Providing a solid benefit with your headline is great, providing two is epic, the title of Dale Carnegie revolutionary book is arguably the most famous " How To" title ever
How To Win Friends and Influence People
If the headline is just a little bit too magnetic it then becomes the dreaded click bait that no one likes :)

I don't know if writing a headline or title first before a story ( short stories flash fiction, etc) helps though. I usually write my story then put a title. Sometimes they don't have titles Sef.
But an article is another ball game, a title first would keep you focused.
(aside): I wonder why you didn't use 'how to' in your title 😃
The headlines does not really apply to stories and poems.
