Black Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter - Does it actually matter?
Both "all lives matter" and "black lives matter" I think are problematic from a marketing standpoint, and have irl often increased division rather than fostered a meaningful conversation that absolutely needs to be had.
But if I say "black lives matter" and a right leaning friend responds with "all lives matter"... I say something along the lines of...
"Great! You're right and not even disagreeing with me! So let's do away with qualified immunity and address police brutality/unaccountability/unions and overcriminalization and overincarceration and systemic issues related to things like poverty and education and end the drug war... All of which harms all races, even if not equally!"
...rather than saying:
"... so what you're saying with all lives matter is that black lives don't? Racist."
Seems more productive.
This is why I'm not active on Twitter.
All Lives Matter is countering rich, white owned and funded Black Lives Matter. The latter being used to divide people for political gain.
Oh look, a founder of BLM, professed Marxist, used millions of dollars in donations by leftist big tech and corporations, to buy homes in white hoods.
She say it helps black community. So she's donating that property to poor black families?
Don't bet on it.
