RE: Menē - The Real Deal

This is a really smart concept. I must warn though, that 24k is quite soft and might not be a good idea for a ring for example. Some of the other things would work better such as the necklace pendants

Thanks for checking out this awesome post! 24k gold being too soft to wear is a myth perpetuated by the jewelery industry. Check it out...... “There is a myth that jewelry can’t be crafted with pure 24 karat gold due to its softness, though this contradicts thousands of years of history and the vibrant 24 karat gold jewelry market in the Eastern world. While it’s true that pure gold is more malleable than other metals and may contour to your body, it’s still a hard and indestructible metal.”

I was going to mention something about 24k gold being soft and that is why they add other harder metals to jewelry... But now that you made this statement about it being a myth, I'm going to have to look deeper into it.
Thanks for dropping in with that interesting info.

I had the same thoughts. so you're not alone in thinking 24k was too soft for everyday use! got to do some homework on this now!

Yes, this has been a myth for a long time. 24k jewelry is used by millions of people :) thanks for your interest and your great post!!
