Police have arrested a man named Mahmudul Haque alias Rony, 32, in a case filed for rape of a girl in the capital's college gate area. Earlier on Sunday, the girl filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on charges of rape.

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ganesh Gopal Biswas said, "A case has been filed in this incident, we are investigating the matter." The OC said the plaintiffs of the case, on Saturday night, they were arrested in the court of Mahmudul Huq (Dhaka Metro -G 29-5414) stopped and requested to reach their destination. Mahmudul's private driver was driving the vehicle during that time.
