Black-Out in the Black Forest
It is dark in the Black Forest , some people might think, but it is one of the greenest and lively places in Germany. However today it got pitch dark in the Black Forest for an hour when the lights were turned off.

In nine communities in the Black Forest at 6pm all lights got off for at least one hour. Citizens were called upon to renounce electric lights. In addition, the public lamps and lanterns were switched off in all nine municipalities, as the organizers in Breitnau (district Breisau) announced. With the unusual action, the municipalities wanted to promote peace and reflection. Lantern and torch hikes are offered in time.
The action entitled "Light off!" took place for the second time. It has nothing to do with the global "Earth Hour" energy-saving and climate protection campaign, which is set to return in March. "Light off!" is limited to the Black Forest.
What wonderful idea that is! It smells like poetry and calming down in a time of accelerated rational thinking and restless life.
