Crusty old Skatepark New Lynn, New Zealand travelling

My good friend Dan Cates instigated the NZ skate trip in 2005 this and the last post have been from.
Epic trip with some great stories!!
After pretty much driving through someones back garden we arrived at this absolute GEM of a skatepark.

Rumours of it being designed in inches and built in cm's were quickly dismissed, as that would have made the pipe's original design at over 6 meters high! Which would have cost millions!

Although there is something up with this place.

Getting down the snake run feels like a trick in itself (not a bad thing really!) and pretty much having to duck to go through the pipe adds to the fun!

It is more of a try-to-stay-on scenario rather than doing tricks all over the place.

I really do love this kind of terrain for skating, as every second you are on your board feels special.
Perfect smooth bowls don't really excite me too much nowadays. Give me a crusty old pond or something with some history, anyday! Would love to go back one day but I can't ever see it happening, not in the near future anyway!
