White Belt BJJ Curriculum - Submission sequence from the back

Greetings you arm bar animals. Here is your dose of BJJ while I get packed up to hit the gym at noon.

As a review, this is another part of the ongoing look at the white belt curriculum as shown through the student's eyes and recorded at an actual class. Go train!

Today, we look at some control and submissions from the back mount position.

Personal Take-aways and opinion:

  • Your opponent generally won't let you get that hook in so the sneaky pull and hook is awesome.
  • After securing with the seat-belt grip, I am constantly fishing for that collar grip as it is a deadly place for a choke and keeps them defending....rather than escaping.
  • You see @rainbowme's favorite submission in here too. The 1-wing strangle except from seated.
  • Keeping them on the side you want and constantly transitioning to these different subs is awesome.

Any funny back stories from rolling or competition?
