Welcome to the 14th Bitshares State of the Network (BSotN) report. I will be releasing this report weekly to look at the changes in the ecosystem and track longer term changes in a effort to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares platform.

The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.
Observation from this week
This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.
@estefantt has commented that he is looking to officially release the 'Bittwenty' project (Top 20 Crypto index) this week and may be speaking at the next Beyond Bitcoin Hangout this Friday to provide some details of project and some insights relating to the mechanics and hopefully some data on its historic performance.. This Index fund will be great for the time poor investors who are bullish on digital currencies but do not have the time to manage a diverse portfolio. @fuzzy has started a round of testing with the Bitshares Sharebot named 'sharebits'; the testing occurred on the bitsharestalk forum where it looks to have been a great success. excited to see the progress with this project that could go viral with big network effect; drawing in new users to the Bitshares ecosystem.
Jian-Jolly and the Team from Bit Kapital have continued to roll out their Turkish Lira Exchange running on the Bitshares network. adoption seems to be at a fast pace with Jian-Jolly leading user referrals for a second week in a row with another 89 new users this week!! you can also see a live webinar by the team HERE
Peerplays have announce a snapshot date which will be used to allocation the official PPY token in the genesis block of the Peerplays network. There are a few important dates which i will try to summarize but i highly recommend you see their official announcement HERE. December 23, 2016 at 12:00am EST - Trade halt will occur; For the subsequent 3 days after December 23, 2016 (ending at 12:00am EST on December 26, 2016), transferring of PEERPLAYS tokens will be permitted. After this 3 day period is over, on December 26, 2016 at 12:00am EST, all PEERPLAYS token transferring activity will no longer be permitted, and a snapshot of PEERPLAYS tokens will be taken. @kencode has made his weekly update which can be found HERE. Detailed in his update are information on his work with C-IPFS meshnets; updates to the Smartcoin wallets, now enabling client sire QR code generation, BIP39 support allowing wallets to work natively with other top cryptocurrencies such as BTC, LTC, Steem, ETH, Dash and Doge, support for importing and exporting of bin files to and from other Bitshares clients (Web and light clients). Also continued work on the Bitshares Stealth UI.
Christoph Hering (@chris4210) Co-Founder & CEO of Bitshares Munich has provided an update on Blockpay via the Beyond Bitcoin Mumble session last friday. Discussing Blockpays intergration with IPFS allowing fault tolerance for the Point of Sales systems so it can make use of next gen technologies to protect itself from attacks via HTTP, DNS, SLL, DDOS etc. Also discussed are the white-label angle of the Smartcoins multi currencie wallet which will allow for companies to use the technoligies developed by Bitshares Munich to fill their own business case. Chris also mentioned a 'Christmas Competition'; no details were shared but will become available in the near future
Christoph Hering has mentioned he is working with CoinTelegraph and Nexus Squared to bring 'The Block Show Europe' to Munich on the 6th of April, @ned has confirmed his attendance as well as a lot of other blockchain heavy weights; find out more details HERE. Chris also mentioned possible discounts for attendees, contact him for details.
Christoph Hering is making progress on the new Bitshares website, he is working with designers to integrate feedback from the community and further work on the text is still being preformed, Chris has suggested he is hoping to be able to work on this over the quieter Christmas period.
The last asset registered this week is asset #1210 and it is a Prediction Market Asset named 'OKCASHBAG' registered by 'kopasi-peerplays' with no description... this users also registered GPCOIN last week which also had no description.
Current registered wallets/accounts within the Bitshares network is 142463 142038 an increase of 425 wallets/accounts since last week
More and more users are coming forward with success stories from their usage of BTSBOT created by Bitshares user 'Alt'. BTSBOT will also be adding an OAuth service allowing users to authenticate to other webpages via the service. No one can argue the presense of BTSBOT is being seen on the Bitshares DEX..

Thank you very much, can we have more explanations about the assets that have been kindly distributed by @taskmanager : BRICS,CADASTRAL, BTCPLUS, TASKMANAGER,OPEN.STEEM. I read their description but I would like to know more : who did create them, how does it work, what is the expected future... your buy or sell advices !
I'm looking forward to the updates more and more. It is so cool to see Bitshares building value with a very solid foundation.

Very interesting re: Bit Kapital's Turkish Lira exchange. How do they plan on integrating with Bitshares? via a bitLira sort of MPA?
