@stan, I'm trading steem for bitshares and I'm all in. I'm watching your recent video now. Steemit is my introduction to cryptocurrency. Exciting stuff my friend. God bless you and I'm buying some spam too.

I agree with @biophil and think this is going to be a cool experiment and I look forward to seeing what happens. I appreciate the discussion you both had on his post abut HERO interest. I am staying tuned and look forward to seeing your entire upcoming presentation!

Can't wait to see this going all out!

This is more exciting times coming our way. Thanks a bunch Stan for sharing, uplifting and empowering us all. All for one and one for all! Namaste :)

I follow and wait presentation!

Thank @stan!

Love this, is on my Birthday too so you will go to infinity and beyond ;) Congrats and may the Shwartz be with you in continued success

Looks great @stan! I wish you great success and look forward to any updates!

What do you think of the opposite of hero? Every hero needs an arch-nemesis!

Where every < time period > the asset depreciates x% in feed price? Perhaps more people would short it into existence given they know that every < time period > it decreases in value? To a degree this would be demurrage like freicoin without the need for an entire separate blockchain..

HERO is potentially going to tell us something about what happens when a smartcoin trades significantly above its price feed; your anti-hero would test the other side of the smartcoin mechanism. It would be interesting, certainly. I expect there would be market pressure to push the token below its price feed, but if it trades consistently below the feed, holders can force-settle and get more BTS than market value - and shorters would be on the hook for that.

If it ever went above the price feed, shorting would be a no-brainer - just like if HERO ever goes below the price feed, buying will be a no-brainer.

But what would its purpose be?

The Hero price feed incentivizes buyers as their holding increases in value for each year they hold it, but it discourages the lender as if they wait a year to pay back the debt they will need to pay an additional 5% back. That said, if Hero is trading above the price feed (people buying into the 5% rise before it occurs) that's a quick bit of profit for the lender after quickly settling the debt

The opposite would incentivize lenders as if they lend the asset into existence, at a later date they would be able to buy back the debt at x% less than they sold it at due to the reduction in price feed. It would however discourage holders from holding the asset for long periods, so we may see an increased liquidity of this token with holders trying to get rid of it as quickly as possible, with a large availability of the asset at the feed price.

With regards to the rate at which the price feed changes, a year is too long to make it worthwhile for shorters because in a year the price of BTS could fluctuate significantly, and 5% is too little per year.

How about 5% per month, but reduced every day 0.001644 (365*0.001644=60.006%)

"One_Dollar * (1-(0.001644 * Days_since_launch))"

Though this would only last 608 days until One_Dollar would be multiplied by 0..

MATH!

FEED_PRICE=ONE_DOLLAR/(1+(((60/365)*DAYS_SINCE_LAUNCH)/100))

Try that again..

FEED_PRICE=[ONE_DOLLAR|ONE_XDR]/(1+(Reduction_Modifier*DAYS_SINCE_LAUNCH))

This would decrease forever!

LOL. That would be called the US Dollar.

I can see what you mean by the fact that the USD buying power/value has dropped significantly year after year, but such a nemesis token would decrease away from the USD whilst hero increased compared to the USD, neither would be representative of 1 USD.

What about the following, Stan?

Arch_Nemesis_Feed_Price=[ONE_DOLLAR|ONE_XDR]/(1+(Reduction_Modifier*DAYS_SINCE_LAUNCH))

A continuously reduced feed price token serving as an opposite experiment to the continuously increased feed price token.

A truly novel idea.

So obvious it almost seems novel? Hmm...

Do you think there are many other possible types of formula based assets?
Such as a price feed which had a sin wave fluctuation against [USD|XDR]? Enabling phases which encouraged either the buying or selling of the asset in a cycle, as opposed to continuous buy/sell pressure encouraged by HERO/Anti-Hero.

The possibilities are endless.

Stan, I want to see your opinion on this. The conclusion is pretty negative for bitcoin + bitshares, but probably somewhat beneficial for Steem:
