Michael Taggart and Stan Larimer are speaking at the Giselle Koy's Conscious Media Festival in Austin, Texas tomorrow. We will be doing our version of a stand-up improv comedy act, without the comedy. We have an hour to explain the philosophical impact of cryptocurrency on the emerging New Earth. Stay tuned for Crypto Connie Willis' live broadcast that will probably get posted tomorrow. Meanwhile, here are some snapshots i took under less than perfect lighting.

Attending were a galactic mix of people - a classier version of the Star Wars bar scene.

After carefully scouring every single soul at the party, Michael and I finally found exactly one fan: Casey Nicole Hamilton, a Holographic Kinetics Practitioner.

Encrypted digital currencies are an alternative to paper currencies but they face some problems that affect them. And most importantly
Accounting: Unlike the United States of America, the coded currency in European countries is considered private money that is not subject to any deduction or tax as long as it is outside the commercial sphere. Some places like the US and China have not been well accepted and some restrictions have been imposed on resident companies on blind currencies.
Laws: We have seen how the rumor of bitcoin in China and some other countries has caused market turmoil, and how governments make it difficult to work in this area if they decide to codify it. In New York State, the administration has issued a BitLicense System license where anyone who wants to form a company must apply for the license, which is estimated at $ 100,000, after fulfilling certain other conditions. This law was issued in 2015 and so far only 3 licenses have been issued, which illustrates the alienation of the digital currency from such places.
Protection: Although the most powerful technology in terms of protection, this has not prevented the largest exchange in the US, Coinbase, to be hacked twice in November and December 2016. Another problem is the authorities' inability to track conversions, identify counterfeits, Money.

What would one wish to be part of this, maybe an arm and a leg!?! What a treat, monumental delight really, to be part of this gathering and sure would have loved to be a little bird perching around a corner hearing and seeing the happenings...

In my view the biggest change will happen if the blind currencies succeed in taking their place in the market is China's control of the arena. China contains 81 percent of the bitcoin mining basins and exports more than 70 percent of the currency's mining power.
Investing in digital currencies
In 2017, most of the digital currency investments were in the ICO (ie collection of investments prior to the launch of the currency). This year we saw how the former CEO of Brendan Eich managed to raise $ 35 million in less than 30 seconds (not a typo).
