Landing page for what, a specific user account? It may be good for some people but not everyone.
What type of user do you think this style appeals to? We need to get far better at UI / UX design, and learn how to first identify / define the target audience [for a given UI design] in detail, then validate that definition by polls and use case trials by individuals to whom you show mock ups, and evaluate how they carry out tasks. You will learn a lot about your audience AND your software's ability to provide the features & functionality that audience needs or wants to use to accomplish particular use cases.
That's how quality UI software is designed, or used to be designed. It's an expensive, labor intensive approach. These days it's rare to see UIs designed with such a focus on users and use cases. Most teams cut most of the user polling and validation of assumptions about who their target audience is or how that audience can best be served out of the design process. They rely on marketers that may have a better handle on users but often have no clue how to design software or understand the costs / tradeoffs involved.
A good quality UI design needs to be much more interactive than it is today from what I've observed. Quality of the end product requires a team effort where marketing AND engineering work together to arrive at the best way to address the needs of the target audience utilizing scarce project resources effectively to do so.
Defining and understanding the target audience is a crucial 1st step before any tool can be created to help that audience accomplish anything.
And let's not forget about the subjective and "artful" aspects of UI design either, the emotional appeal of certain colors and arrangement of information on a screen, the use of icons, symbols and animation. There's a lot of room for creativity in UI design beyond the realm of engineering the software that involve more psychology and understanding of human behavior.
You are right. Your message needs to be relayed to the bitshares wallet design team. I am not sure who they are. @Fav and @Svk?
Some must haves I think are important to show on the first page are account balances, transactions history, an option to send and receive money, and an overview of the market. This is just my take on what the landing page (the first page) should look like (assuming you already have a wallet created).
I think the future is to have a wallet with multiple templates/themes or multiple wallets with different GUI. The more options we have the better.

I agree, a modular design or one that offers a flexible and easy to use way to customize their UI to their needs / preferences is probably where the roadmap should head.
Defining the target audience(s) is still the first step. Once that is done it becomes possible to come up with designs to meet the needs of that demographic, or design common UI elements (modules, plugins, novice/expert modes) for various audience segments.
The brain-trust for BitShares UI is primarily @svk, with @cass contributing graphics and his UI experience. I think there are others who have contributed as well, don't mean to slight their contributions, but svk & cass are key contributors.
+5 full steams correct end to identify who your target market is. This UI looks more for traders than the general public. If the is the case, I would not call it a wallet. Thought it may function as such it's visuals are not congruent with what the general public expects a wallet to look like. You will need to create a far more simple, less visually complex product for use as a general purpose wallet IMO. Also, some there on the UI pic on bitshares talk I saw an option tab labeled "Fiat". I recommend you use "national currency" or something similar. You want to use terms that are the lest technical and as generally understood as possible. Also color is very important in setting psychology and mood. I would recommend changing to black to one (or two) lighter colors.
Bitshares has been having trouble with this for while. It's important to get it right as the initial experience of the "wallet" is amount the group of first experiences the any potential user will have with the product. The software must feel attractive, relatable or even familiar. Great effort. Good luck.
It would be cool it that is a drag & drop interface. So that you can active certain windows and close it if you don´t want to see it. How difficult would that be?
I try to make my own customised bitshares-ui but I have a lot of difficulties. Followed a few 'how-to" but it doesn't work properly .
Is there anyway I can contact you on this ? Any help would be greatly appricated ! Possible paid job even ?
It'd be quite cool if Bitshares had drag and drop UI elements that the user could customize, so that their favorite trading pairs were on the front page without having to code such functionality into the client themselves.

That would be a cool feature for active users of the wallet. I don't think it's difficult to add this feature for our genius coders in bitshares.
