Former President Lee Myung-bak attends PyeongChang Olympic opening ceremony

Former President Lee Myung-bak will attend the opening ceremony of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games as planned.

A former official of the presidential office said on July 8, "The former president decided to attend the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games on September 9 as scheduled."

"I thought it was right to attend the Olympics as a former president," he added.

The decision was made by Lee's strong will to attend the national festival and celebrate the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games.
