Members of Bitland Global assemble in Bloomington, Indiana

8 August 2016 (Bloomington, IN): This weekend members of the Bitland Global team from across North America convened in the Hoosier state for their inaugural physical meeting. This is a significant moment for the company because most meetings took place in cyberspace, over Skype, until now. The purpose of the gathering was to build team morale and discuss Bitland’s fast-developing future projects including expanding into Nigeria and Sierra Leone following Ghana.

Besides enjoying the college town’s summer charm (home of Indiana University) the team reviewed the state of the field of practical block-chain tech application and Bitland’s evolving role as leading tech and development company in the industry. First conceived of in 2014 and growing steadily with zero debt through the individual efforts of this exceptional team, in two short years Bitland Global has already steamrolled through dozens of milestones including creating and successfully crowd-selling the Cadastral, a crypto-currency designed to fund Bitland’s projects. Consequently, as the operation expands into new terrains and develops new blockchain-based solutions for modern security, identity, voting rights, and ownership concerns, the imperative to initiate regular face-to-face gatherings was identified by Co-Founder and Chief Security Officer Chris Bates. These meetings as well as attendance and active participation in national and international business and tech conferences are an integral part of Bitland’s community-building and outreach agenda.

According to Bates, “The Bitland Project has been picking up momentum slowly, and we are approaching critical mass. Our team has been working extremely hard to make sure that operations work smoothly, and daily progress achieved. We are nearing completion on our Alpha protocol and will be testing on the ground in the first Bitland Center in Ghana by October.”

The timing of this meeting was deemed necessary by a series of exciting new partnerships and opportunities that emerged over the course of the summer. A meeting to celebrate these achievements, recognize the value of the team, and coordinate the next chapter of Bitland’s journey was a fitting move. Bates asserts that “Decentralized organization has worked for our team in daily efforts to achieve company goals but nevertheless, nothing can replace the electrifying presence of the whole team under one roof.” Elaborating on the many proverbial irons that Bitland Global has in the fire, Bates continues:

*Bitland is not only involved in land title registration. We have many other elements to our development project. We are actively preparing to pilot various facets of this program in different regions. For example, in Nigeria, we will be working with the Drachmae Project to pilot a travel club where travel club memberships can be purchased at a discount for Cadastrals. One of the benefits of installing different pilots is that each individual case-study can address the concerns of each location’s diverse array of demands that can be met with simultaneous protocol testing. *

One of the promising new countries that Bitland is expanding into is Nigeria. In June Bitland Global began talks with Jacobs Edo to set up a station in Nigeria. This undertaking was made official this past week with the establishment of the Bitland Business Development Centre Nigeria Ltd. Keen on pushing this project forward full-speed, Bates explains the importance of the Nigeria extension as providing “a new opportunity to test the protocol in a more developed economy that still needs land title protection.” Bates is confident that the recently doubled presence of Bitland in Africa will instigate a ripple effect great enough to spark the entire continent’s interest in Bitand. Bitland is featured in Jacobs’ book A Practical Book on Digital Transformation which will be distributed to one hundred leaders around the African continent thanks to a Kickstarter campaign that was recently funded.

Other achievements that dominated the meeting’s agenda was Bitland Global’s ascent to semi-finalist status in Connecticut Innovation’s international Venture Clash competition, in which digital health and financial tech companies compete for $5 million in investment. This gathering allowed the Bitland Team to strategize for the Venture Clash presentation, ensuring that Bitland Global has the best chance of emerging as the victor from the competition’s final round of evaluation.
