I would not recommend Bitgold, they have a history of reclaiming people's gold in their account and has counter party risk. I think if you like gold you should just buy physical gold and store it yourself. Otherwise, I'd recommend Bitcoin which doesn't require counter party risk and has way better utility than gold.
