How to Be a Creative Entrepreneur

In Alice in Wonderland, the Queen had a fantastic line: "Sometimes I think of six impossibilities before breakfast." You must agree that this is ingenuity at its very finest, don't you? This is something you should aim for as a small company owner, but how on earth can you free your mind to the point where ideas just flow?

Small business entrepreneurs must be innovative and imaginative in order to operate their own company. What can you do to activate your brain and spark creativity if you have a sneaking suspicion that this is not one of your strengths?

Being infinite

Too many individuals have constrained perspectives. Everything in their universe is contained within a tight box, and nothing can exist outside of it. Anything that is reported in the newspaper must be accurate. Joe next door must be correct if he claims something is impossible.

Being a constrained thinking is something you cannot afford as a small business owner. You must have unrestricted thought. Develop the mindset that there are no restrictions and determine that there are no taboos. Have faith that you can discover original solutions to all of your difficulties if you put some effort into it. This serves as the basis for creative thought.

Put the future first
Looking forward is always a good way to generate creative ideas. A powerful motivation is the sense of moving forward and solving the challenge. Do you believe that if you were backward-focused, you could still have the same outcome? I don't believe so! Develop the habit of thinking forward and being future-focused rather than a typical thinker who attempts to find solutions in the present.

Be a writer
Ideas will start flowing swiftly once you allow yourself to enjoy the benefits of creativity, as if someone had opened the floodgates! The ideas are lost forever if you don't catch them, much like flood water. Carry a little pocket notepad with you so you may write down all your thoughts. Write down any thoughts that come to you as soon as they happen. No matter how absurd it is, you may still consider it in the next day's cold light.

The fact that you are taking note of the ideas will inspire you to be even more creative, because good acts inspire more good deeds!
Avoid Clutter

If you are a messy person by nature, break the habit! The result of a busy workspace is a cluttered mind. When all your brain is doing is telling you how messy your workplace is all the time, you cannot expect it to function well. Get rid of all the clutter in your life and clear your thoughts to be more creative.

Take Initiative
All of these ideas are excellent, but if you don't act on them, you might as well not have bothered. Without particular action to help it come to life, an idea is nothing more than a concept. Review your notebook occasionally to look for any hidden gems or quick-to-implement ideas. Many of your ideas might not work at all, but somewhere there is probably one that, if implemented, might alter you or your company. Make a firm commitment to advancing as many of your ideas as you can.

Don't be scared to knock down any barriers. According to John Stuart Mill, what appears to be the pinnacle of foolishness in one generation frequently becomes the pinnacle of wisdom in the following.
