BITCOIN PLUS XBC

Bitcoin Plus has a wonderfully chequered history. Back in March 2014 the coin was launched via an ICO held on the Poloniex Exchange. As with all Crypto Currency in 2014 the Forum Bitcointalk was where the community first came together. The original thread is still there if you wish to peruse over it. The original Developer of Bitcoin Plus went by the handle XBC Plus. Once he received the ICO funds he succumbed to the lure of Barbados (or somewhere similar) and went and had very nice holiday. A team from the Community was formed and 'Took Over' the coin. The wallet was fixed and time went on. And then alas, some of those community members also disappeared with what ever Bitcoin they could get their hands on. Finally in May 2015 two members of the Bitcoin Plus Community, Egghead and JJMV, steadied the ship and 'Took Over' the coin again. They hired respected coder 'Mammix2' to fix the wallet and add encrypted messaging into it. They also introduced the Sustainability Plan which is still in existence today. The idea being that the coin is completely self sustainable. More on this later.

The technical specifications for Bitcoin Plus have changed over the last year. Origianlly XBC was purely a Proof of Stake Coin. Essentially anyone who has an open wallet is performing mathematical calculations in the background and securing the network. If you have XBC coins in your wallet, over the course of one year you can expect those coins to increase by 10%.

XBC is still primarily a Proof of Stake Coin however a recent update added the ability to secure the network using Proof of Work. This means that if the network ever has an issue we can move things along manually by switching on Proof Of Work for a short period. Bitcoin Plus is now what is known as a Hybrid POS/ POW.
