Happy Pizza Day!

Monday May 22 2017 was the five year anniversary of the Bitcoin Pizza Day – the day a programmer, Mr Laszlo Hanyecz spent 10,000 Bitcoins on two pizzas.

Laszlo asked a fellow "Bitcoiner"on a forum to accept 10,000 bitcoin for two Papa John's Pizzas. At the time, he was under the impression that the coins he owned were worth around 0.003 cents each.

This transaction is regarded as the first documented purchase using Bitcoin. To commemorate this transaction, May 22 is dubbed Bitcoin Pizza Day and worldwide pizza restaurants offer discounts to pizzas purchased with Bitcoins.

At the time 10,000 Bitcoins were worth about $30,00. However - if he had kept them, today, Thursday 26th May, they would have been worth a staggering $27,000,000
