I said shitcoins (before August 2017) were forking a piece of code (not the network) with ICO
and now they fork the code and the network (old block and split coins)

You are right with the new kind of creating a coin.
At least this coin, Bitcoin Diamond, has really good features. Encrypted transaction amount included. We'll see how it all works out.
In the meantime we can always profit from the airdrops :)
