The Newest Bitcoin Dev
Hello All,
This is my first Steemit post and I am not referencing myself regarding the subject heading. This is my son born last month and my goal for him (besides the obvious of HAPPINESS that all parents want for their children) is that he grows up in the world where Bitcoin is fully implemented and centralized banking is gone, having given way to decentralized money.
I have been involved in Bitcoin now for 4 years and not a day goes by that I do not get excited about its potential to change the world in a way not seen in history. The very act of changing our medium of exchange to a consensus system rather than 12 bankers in a room deciding who gets what. Growing up and into college, this always felt off to me and when I heard about Bitcoin, everything made sense.
I know we are all having our own frustrations throughout this process; such as, why isn't Segwit 100% yet or what is taking Lightning Network so long to be developed and countless others but through these frustrations, the potential is always shining through. WE MUST CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE GREAT DEVS; who work on these issues daily. I know it can't be easy for them which is why I want my little guy to learn Bitcoin and contribute so we can have this better world. A world where he will be using Bitcoin when he's 5 years old. Than when he turns 16 and his employer asks him to open a bank account, he will see the redundancy of the whole banking system and will be unable to comprehend why my generation ever used banks.
The good thing is, we currently are largest demographic in the USA. Millennials will be at 96 million strong and who, like me and my son, will also pass down Bitcoin to their children along with the worldwide demographics as Bitcoin is a global change which can empower the un-banked and bring us all together. I always wonder if history over looked another Einstein or any another Genius because they were born where Bankers cut them out of the system.
I hope I did OK for my first Steemit post and I look forward to discussing these issues in depth as we travel on this journey.
