What a Volcano-Based Bitcoin Mine in El Salvador Looks Like

The President of El Salvador has shared his vision of what a 100% renewable, volcano-based bitcoin mining might look like, and it may not be a vision for a long time.

President Nayib Bukele said he directed El Salvador's state-owned energy company LaGeo to allow bitcoin miners to harness the continuous energy flowing from the country's geothermal power plants.

Less than two days after securing the cryptocurrency's legal tender status, he said "this will evolve quickly."

A day later Nayib Bukele wrote: "I design this when I tweet."
