That's a nice headline image. I still see hacks in desktop wallets and my NXT client was hacked (thats a long password). You are right though about keeping your private keys on a thumb drive or out of distance from the PC. Hackers are after the crypto, it's never safe!
It is official now- BFX to spread losses from the hack across all accounts. All customers BTC, LTC, ETH, & ETC will have a 36% haircut, and will get BFX shares in return.
