Not the most recent news, but worth reminding that you should under no circumstances use unsecured public networks while playing with cryptocurrencies.

November 2017, a bitcoin user in Innsbruck, Austria, connected to a public wireless network, and almost immediately lost around US$117,000 worth of BTC. Criminals used this WiFi to compromise the man's laptop.
If you do want to check your online account balance – whether it is cryptocurrency or bank-related – do not use public wireless networks to do so.
Must access a financial account over public WIFI? - use good VPN (not ANY VPN)
If you must access your online banking, cryptocurrency exchange or process a transaction while connected to a public WIFI, at least use a solid VPN product. Choose wisely, as many VPN solutions have known vulnerabilities and do not guarantee privacy. I recently posted good info on poor VPN products with serious flaws which do not guarantee your privacy, check this post to find more about affected VPN clients here:
This is so hectic @voluntary-io..
It's mad because this is a lot of money. However imagine what else people loose while using unsecured public wireless networks. Personal photos, contacts, emails, passwords and many more. It's a scary world out there. Millions of incidents pass unnoticed or unreported. Only high profile thefts get media coverage.
