The suspension of the popular @Bitcoin account on Sunday has sparked furious debate. In today’s edition of Bitcoin in Brief, there’s all that plus some ludicrous claims from new blockchains.

Ever since the @Bitcoin Twitter account pledged its allegiance to bitcoin cash, some bitcoin core supporters have been hellbent on having it shutdown.

🗞 Bitfinex Introduces Trading for 12 Altcoins Including Tether Competitor

Bitfinex has announced the introduction of 12 new ERC-20 tokens. Among the tokens listed is Dai – a stablecoin competitor to Tether.

The newly supported altcoins are Aion (AION), Iostoken (IOST), Request Network (REQ), Raiden Network (RDN), Loopring (LRC) Bnktothefuture Token (BFT), Cofound.it (CFI), Wax (WAX), Singularitynet (AGI), Medicalchain (MTN), Odem (ODEM), and Dai (DAI).

🗞 Malta Determined To Become the ‘Blockchain Island’: Regulations, Adoption, Binance Headquarters

Malta has made it obvious that it wants to become the “Blockchain island” and it seems determined to achieve its goal.

A notable confirmation that Malta is moving in the right direction regarding Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) regulation was the recent announcement by Binance. The largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world by volume chose Malta for their new headquarters after the warnings received from Japan, China and Hong Kong.

🗞 Three More Countries Join Planned Lawsuit Against Internet Giants For Banning Crypto Ads

Cryptocurrency and Blockchain organizations in Switzerland, Kazakhstan, and Armenia have recently joined those of Russia, China, and South Korea in filing a joint lawsuit against major Internet companies for banning crypto-related advertising, local Russian news outlet RNS reported Friday, April 6.

Zooko Wilcox received his first plea for help from someone in Venezuela a few months ago.

The founder and CEO of the Zerocoin Electric Coin Company (ZECC) had been closely following what he describes as "a humanitarian crisis of the first order" unfolding in Venezuela when he got that first message, followed by a series of others.
